PRESSING MATTERS: As they say in comedy, President Trump “died” on stage last night delivering a meandering one-hour speech to the re-scheduled White House Correspondents Association dinner. The original dinner in April ended abruptly when a gunman ran into the hotel lobby.

The President opened with a dig at how much it cost to renovate the federal reserve building and it went downhill from there as his laugh lines fell flat.

Trump said; “This place is really the largest group of Trump Derangement Syndrome people ever put together at one time, I suspect. Some of you are lucky that our last dinner was cut short because I had brought with me what would possibly have been — I’m telling you, I had something. I was going to go after you.”

He spoke about how he had re-done the Waldorf Hotel in which the event was held and his new White House ballroom. He touted “The Claw,” the giant arched structure built on the White House lawn to host UFC cage fights.
